Have you ever watched those videos on the conception process that show a baby growing? They show how amazing our body is. We can grow a life. For 9 months a woman's body does everything it needs to nurture and grow a life until it is time for delivery.

Sometimes, we need a little extra help along the way. Like with anything that grows, your baby needs the right environment to flourish and sometimes external factors can make it more difficult.

Stage 1 : The early days

I have a download that will help through those early stages of pregnancy. It encourages your body, the environment that your baby is growing in, to relax and nurture the embryo. It works helps your body do what it knows how to do best and relaxes you through those tricky early days when everything is so sensitive to changes.

Stage 2 : Relaxing through the pregnancy

As you progress through the middle and later stages of pregnancy it becomes harder and harder to relax as the niggles and aches of pregnancy come into play. As it progresses you may also be getting yourself mentally prepared for the birth.

I have developed a self hypnosis download to both help you relax and also teach you a key technique for staying calm and in control through the birth. This download will teach you how to calmly find a safe place in your head that you can use throughout the 9 months and during labour. The earlier you start practising, the more adept you will become during labour.

Stage 3 : Complications

Pre-eclampsia

There are many things that can cause high blood pressure and there are many medicines, prescribed by GPs that can help to reduce it. This download was developed with pregnant women in mind. High blood pressure during pregnancy can lead to pre-eclampsia or even eclampsia.

Due to the nature of being pregnant, options for medication are very limited. In fact it is quite rare to be given medication to reduce blood pressure during pregnancy. It is more likely that you will be required to rest, or stay in hospital or, in the most severe cases, deliver the baby irrespective of the term. If high blood pressure problems are allowed to continue during pregnancy it puts both the baby and the mother at significant risk.

This download is designed to normalise your blood pressure. To allow your body to do what it knows how to do best and pick up enough oxygen from the lungs and allow the blood to flow around the body at a pace that is healthy and normal for you.

WARNING: This download does not lower blood pressure, it returns it to normal. If you are taking medication that lowers your blood pressure at the same time as listening to this it is possible that you could end up with low blood pressure. If you are on medication for blood pressure then this download should only be used with appropriate medical supervision.

I would advise that you purchase a blood pressure cuff to measure the impact of the download.

SPD

SPD is a painful condition which can happen mid to late pregnancy as your hips begin to move and prepare for the birth (I am not medically trained to this is not a technical definition!). The same pain management technique that you can use in labour can be used to manage your SPD.

Stage 4 - Birth

Research has shown some of the following benefits to a natural birth using hypnosis techniques for labour and delivery:

  • Labour is likely to be significantly shorter
  • There's a much reduced likelihood of forceps, ventouse, or Caesarean section
  • Your baby is likely to have a higher Apgar score
  • Reduced use of pain medication means reduction of undesirable side effects for mother and baby.
  • You're likely to need a shorter hospital stay and have a quicker postnatal recovery.
  • Reduced incidence of post-natal depression.
  • Many mothers report that their babies are calmer and feed and sleep better due to their gentle passage into the world.
