I always think it sucks that food is the only addiction we can't get over by abstaining from it.
After all, we need food to survive.
Hypno Gastric bands...
...are very popular these days. They use the mind to shrink the stomach so that we can't physically manage to eat
But we still want to eat.
We still fancy the foods that we know may not be best for us. It's just when we start eating we run out of space quickly.
Wouldn't it be better if you didn't want to eat as much in the first place?
So often food has become so much more to us than just fuel. It has become an emotional weapon. We use it to punish ourselves or reward ourselves. We use food to get through difficult times.
Food is so much more than fuel.
And yet, others look on those of us that are overweight and point fingers. They expect us to stop eating so much. Simple. Problem solved.
If it was that easy, none of us would be overweight!
It's not about willpower. In fact, if you're anything like me your willpower is amazing. I was on and off diets my whole life. Can you imagine the willpower it takes to lose weight through dieting? To look at every item of food and not think "I wonder what that tastes like" but to think instead "I wonder how many X that has in it"
Food is weapon on a battleground. It is the enemy and the ally. Food is often so much more than fuel.
I've had this battle but I used Cognitive Hypnotherapy.
Without needing to do anything other than listen to a short voice recording every day, I found myself leaving food on my plate at mealtimes. I felt fuller sooner. I stopped reaching for snacks throughout the day. Whenever I ate anything I found that after a few bites I didn't want any more. And soon the weight started disappearing and my clothes became looser. In the space of a year I went from a size 22/24 to a size 14.
And the best thing? I ate whatever I wanted because I didn't want to eat much.
So I can help you with your weight loss. We can work together on any emotional blocks you may have to weight loss. Together we can get you to where you want to be - whatever size you choose to be.
Here are some testimonials from weight loss clients I have helped.
I have always been a yo-yo dieter, but I know this is seriously unhealthy and I want a 'normal' relationship with food. In my first session with Dawn I felt at ease straight away and we soon got to the root of my problems and worked on changing my thoughts about food and my lifestyle. By the time we met for a follow up session I was no longer obsessed with food. I am eating smaller portions and I am much more active. All my clothes are looser and I am noticing positive changes all the time. Dawn is friendly and professional and has helped me greatly in a short space of time. Thank you, Dawn. SANDY C.
I had no idea what to expect in my very first session with Dawn - but her warm personality soon put me at total ease. My food issues have been totally turned around after only 2 sessions! After 32 years of overeating, I can now say with certainty that it is all in my past. I am facing a better, healthier and less food-obsessed future. I cannot thank Dawn enough.JENNIFER C.
